According to American tradition
🌗 If you are growing a plant for its parts below ground (root, tuber, peanut, rhizome, bulb), plant during the waning moon.
🌓 If you are growing a plant for its parts that are above ground (stalk, leaves, flowers, fruits, etc.) plant during the waxing moon.
🌒 Plant flowers specifically in the first quarter, unless you are growing them specifically to harvest or plant their seeds (sunflower seeds, etc.), in which case plant in the second quarter.
🌑 Do not plant on the new moon or on the quarter moon.
🌓 Graft and prune during the waxing moon.
🌗 Harvest all in the waning moon, especially potatoes and fruits on trees (to prevent rot).
🌗 Hunt game and kill chickens during the waning moon.
🌗 Cut firewood in the waning moon.
🌘 Harvest roots specifically in the last quarter.
🌘 Weed, plough, and cut down dead plants in the last quarter.
🌘 Pickle, can, and preserve in the last quarter.
